About KSPF

KARNATAKA STATE PHYSIOTHERAPY ASSOCIATION is formed with name as “KARNATAKA STATE PHYSIOTHERAPY FEDERATION”. (Note: It is also referred to as K.S.P.F. for the sake of brevity)

Karnataka State Physiotherapy Federation provides direction to physiotherapy profession; inspiring excellence in practice, uplifting education and research, providing effective physiotherapy services; and positions the physiotherapy profession as an integral part for the health and wellness of People.

KSPF is committed to bring innovation in physiotherapy through the provision of advocacy, professional development and career support services for KSPF members, enabling them to be successful in their careers and in providing quality physiotherapy services to the People.

About Physiotherapy by WHO

WHO defined as, Physiotherapist is recognized as a Health Professional in the health care sectors who assess, plan and implement physiotherapy treatment  (Reference: Classifying health workers: Mapping occupations to the international standard classification- ISCO 08 Code 3226 . www.who.int/entity/hrh/statistics/Health_workers_ classification. pdf). "Physiotherapists assess, plan and implement rehabilitative programs that improve or restore human motor functions, maximize movement ability, relieve pain syndromes, and treat or prevent physical challenges associated with injuries, diseases and other impairments. They apply a broad range of physical therapies and techniques such as movement, ultrasound, heating, laser and other techniques. They may develop and implement programmes for screening and prevention of common physical ailments and disorders"

This is for public interest- many Quacks or fake physiotherapists are practicing physiotherapy in the state of Karnataka and they are harming patients. We hereby request to Public that if you find such quacks report us immediately to Dr. Mahendra.,PT, Joint Secretary, KSPF, contact: 9886730136

KSPF recieving the phone call from patients reporting that the students studing Bachelor of Physiotherapy are practicing physiotherapy and treating them without completing the course. Treating patient without completing course is harmful to the patients and unethical. KSPF is trying to find such students and the college they studing report to the University. For this we request public to help us finding such students.

To Practice physiotherapy in India or Karnataka state, a person shall be qualified either any of the qualification as listed here- 1. Diploma in Physiotherapy (Minimum of 3 years duration course) 2. Bachelor level in Physiotherapy ( minimum 3 and half years duration course) and 3. Master of Physiotherapy ( Minimum 2 years duration course) as a basic qualification on full time regular course from a recognised University. As per UGC.

Note: Any kind of education like: -Certificate in Physiotherapy or Vocational course in Physiotherapy or distance education/ Correspondence course in Physiotherapy degree is not a vaild course.

You can find an authentic Physiotherapist: The qualified and recognized Physiotherapists are practicing with membership registered under Karnataka state Physiotherapy Federation.
